Anyone up for a multiplayer game of Half Life 2 or Halo(1)? I'm painfully bored and feel like playing a game with someone (on a private channel, of course. Public servers = bleh. Too much aggression on public servers.)

You can play Halo multiplayer for free with the trial, as Sluggs and Moosehoof have shown us, but I assume the maps are limited. (I have the full version, so I'm not quite sure on the limits of the trial.)

Half Life 2: Deathmatch, however, is not. It's sold separately from the Orange Box (which contains all the other HL2 stuff) for $5. I was able to download it for free because according to Wikipedia:

I only have the trial version of Halo and I don't think it can connect to any full game server.

As for Half Life, I've yet to play any Half Life multiplayer. I still haven't even tried Counterstrike!

I think it would be kinda weird for them to not let the people with the full game and the trial play together in the multiplayer. But if that's true, I can just download the trial then play with you guys on that xD

Can you host games? I can't host, (I don't have a static IP address), so I can only join games, not host them.

BTW, I found this earlier, which means I might be able to finally host my own games!

Saying that though, for some reason, I was able to host games on the Midnight Club 2 demo!

Im still waiting for Deathmatch to finish downloading, But I would be slaughtered If I played. I played TF2 and the lag was worse and the summer Abio >.< another reason why dial-up is lame!

You know, the last time I played the full version, I didn't find that many servers to play on! There's more servers available for the trial version, than there is for the full version! (Well, the last time I played the full version, that is!)
