If anyone, especially Sluggs, is still hanging around here, can anyone put up a list of what each version does, ie; which one has the halloween spells, how others view your deer in each.

I'd be happy to, Liekaface. :3 Just give me some time to research it.

| TEF 1.0 11/01/2006 (18.34MB) In this phase...- You can only walk around the ruins
- You can only see the default set
- The sound quality makes the deer sound like sauropods (long necked dinosaurs)
- There's more energetic animations
- There are no emotion animations or fawns
- Other deer (using different clients) see you as a gray stag with broken antlers
TEF 1.5 28/02/2006 (43.31MB) In this phase...- Exactly the same as 1.0, but you can walk to the Twin God statues (but you cannot pray) and you can go to the pond
TEF 2.0 26/04/2006 (50.73MB) In this phase...- Sound quality improves greatly
- You now have all the emotion animations we have now except the cowering animation
- You can now pray at the statues
- You can now wear sets, but only the older ones (you cannot see Halloween sets or Mardi Gras sets)
- Still no fawns
- Others (using phase 3 and up) see you as a transparent deer
- You can cast flowers on any deer, even if they have an antler spell
TEF 3.0 24/09/2007 (46.62MB) In this phase...- The fawn is introduced
- You can now go to the playground
- I think the magpie set is introduced in 3.0 (correct me if I'm wrong)
- The animations have calmed down
- You appear normal to others
TEF 3.1 14/10/2007 (48.62MB) In this phase...- You can now see Halloween sets
- You can cast the DOTD (Day of the Deer/Dead) set
- You can pick up candles at the playground rocks and cast them
- You can still not see Mardi Gras sets
- You now can use the cower animation
TEF 3.13 08/01/2008 (49.16MB) In this phase...- You can now see and cast Mardi Gras sets
TEF 3.2 29/01/2008 (53.13MB) In this phase...- Exactly the same as 3.13, but uses a different server
- You can no longer cast the DOTD set or candles (unless the Twin Gods place them in the forest)
= Latest version |

Thankyou! I'd just like to add that you can't use hotkeys until phase 3.13, which is darn annoying. I now remember why hotkeys were such a good idea! ^^;

Nice work, Trinket! However, you are wrong about version 3.13 though. I use that very version to cast the Halloween sets, and pick up candles from the playground. You can also experiment with sit-sliding. In the older versions, sit-sliding is so much easier, and you have full control of your sitting Deer!

Do you have more than one version of TEF on your computer at once? I find one cancels out the other. (I have Windows XP)

In version 2.0 you can cast flowers on anyone, whatever they're currently wearing!

So you have more than one saved at once? O.O Edit: And also (full of questions, me), do you see random deer with white sets?

Lots of Deer with white sets, yes! I didn't have time to answer your question before. I quickly wrote about the flowers before I forgot, then shot back into TEF. I never have two different versions of TEF running at the same time, but the best way to go about that, is to install one version, save the game folder, uninstall it, then install the next version, then repeat the process until you have a backup of all the installed versions. Whether they'll work properly or not, is another matter entirely!

I have also discovered that if you hold down Ctrl on phase 3.13 for long enough, you turn everyone white. O.O ....I think I might have gone a bit mental yesterday. I was determined to make a DoTD herd. And I did. I'm probably not supposed to do that. So I'll stop now, methinks!

(16th August 2008) Added two more versions of TEF - 3.11 and 3.12 I've also added the old patch that fixed the constant mooing problem. Luckily, I had all these backed up on DVD's!

Has anyone else downloaded version 2.0, and it works? For me, I can't run in a window (don't know if that was an option then), and I don't have the option to sneeze off spells, and it doesn't remember spells cast before. Also, putting spelldata in the userdata folder doesn't do anything. Is that because it's out of date? Edit: Anyone? HellO?
